New Businesses in Ann Arbor & Ypsi - Her Space Therapy, Tabe, Book Love & more
April 3rd-9th: A roundup of small businesses that recently opened in Ann Arbor & Ypsi, Hash Bash, FestiFools, live music & more!
Hi neighbors!
There are some great new local businesses that recently opened, some iconic local events this weekend & tons of live music as always.
(And, in case you didn’t know - you can reply to this email anytime to tell me about new local businesses I may have missed, upcoming events I should know about, or just to say hi!)
📰 What’s New?
💁🏻♀️ Her Space has officially landed downtown - this cozy & welcoming practice for mental health & healing is focused on supporting women, but open to all. They offer individual, couples, and group therapy — plus workshops and community events —in a gorgeous, light-filled space at 122 S. Main, Suite 270. 122 S. Main St. Suite 270, Ann Arbor. Follow them on IG @herspacemi for more updates!
🍣 Tabe, a new fine dining Asian-fusion restaurant has opened at 209 S. Main St. with different experiences on each of its floors. A gorgeous interior throughout, fine Asian fusion fare downstairs, an elevated omakase experience upstairs with 7–12 courses cooked in front of you (+ fish flown in weekly from Japan) + a private event space on the 3rd floor.
📚 Book Love Bar is a new indie book shop in downtown Ypsi, located at 110 W. Michigan Ave. A full bar & coffee service is coming soon - but in the meantime, go check them out & buy yourself a new book!
🗓️ What’s Happening?
😮💨 Hash Bash, Monroe Street Fair & After Party | Saturday, 4/5
53 years strong and still lighting it up—Hash Bash hits Ann Arbor this weekend with live music, speakers, street vendors, and vibes as high as the crowd. Stick around for the after party... and maybe some snacks.
👹 FoolMoon & FestiFools | Friday, 4/4 & Sunday, 4/6
Ann Arbor gets delightfully weird this weekend with FoolMoon and FestiFools lighting up the streets — literally. Expect glowing sculptures, giant puppets, pots-and-pans parades, and enough whimsy to power the whole city grid. It’s arty. It’s loud. It’s peak Ann Arbor.
🎭 Detroit Puppet Company - Free Family Puppet Show (Ypsi) | Saturday, 4/5
Shadow puppets, sisterly magic, and a village-saving adventure? Yes, please. Sun Moon Secret comes to life in this whimsical shadow show based on the children’s book — followed by a hands-on puppet-making workshop for the whole fam.
🍝 Carosello Pasta’s 3rd Birthday Bash (Dexter) | Saturday, 4/5
For those of you who have been following me/this newsletter for a while, you already know I LOVE this place and tell everyone about it. I promise you - it’s worth the trip to Dexter. Their fresh pasta is out of this world and they have so many other goodies in their shop + free samples, cake, and a pop-up from Ellen’s Fine Goods from 10-2pm!
