January 3rd-January 8th: Ice skating, Hands On Holidays, a winter wear drive & live music as always!
Hi neighbors!
Happy New Year!
The colder weather has arrived and seems that it’s here to stay for a while, but you can still catch plenty of live music, go ice skating, or just get cozy and embrace the feeling of hygge.
You can also check out some of the local businesses that opened last year that you might’ve missed!
Here’s what’s going on this weekend ⬇️
📰 What’s Happening?
👋 Hands On Holidays @ The Hands On Museum | now - January 5th
The Hands on Museum has a special schedule of extra activities and events going on all weekend long - model trains, magic shows, critters up close & more!
⛸️ Frozen Fridays Ice Skating @ Buhr Park Ice Rink | Friday, January 3rd
It’s disco night! Wear your best costume & skate to some funky disco music from 7-8:45pm. You can also find open skate times at the website listed above.
🛠️ Open Hours @ All Hands Active | Saturday, January 4th
Interested in learning a new skill or creating more things with your hands this year? Drop in AHA to learn about and use tools, see the space, or share a project you’re working on from 2-6pm.
📚 Studio Ghibli Celebration @ AADL | Sunday, January 5th
Crafts, activities, trivia & movie screenings from Studio Ghibli - the Japanese studio that released movies like My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki’s Delivery Service (both great movies, BTW)
🧥 Also… my real estate team is doing a winter wear drive to collect gently used winter coats, hats, scarves, mittens/gloves & boots for the House By The Side of the Road — a nonprofit that serves Washtenaw County and we’d love your help! If you have anything to donate, please let us know and we can coordinate a time for drop-off or pick up!
